Privacy Policy

The Women’s Intellectual Property Lawyers' Association (hereafter, "WIPLA") is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and website visitors. WIPLA’s Privacy Policy was created to explain what types of information are collected by WIPLA’s website, www.wipla.net, and how this information is used.

What Type of Personal Information is Collected?

By registering as a WIPLA member, subscribing to our newsletter, or donating to us, you voluntarily provide us with personal information. Such personal information may include your contact information (including name and e-mail address) and any financial information you may provide. 

In addition, WIPLA passively collects analytic information via Wild Apricot to improve site performance. Analytic information includes your browsing habits on our website, geographical location, and other browsing information. 

Cookies

Our website, www.wipla.net, uses cookies to identify your device to the website when you visit again so that the site can load your preferences, automatically accept your credentials, or otherwise personalize your experience. We use third party service providers to collect and store your information. Cookies do not store personal information about you, just information identifying your device. Within your browser settings, you can choose whether to accept cookies. To access www.wipla.net as a member, you must enable cookies (which most browsers do by default).

How Your Information is Used

We use your personal information to provide you with personalized service; to send e-mail alerts to you; to answer your requests; to process your membership application; and, for various other purposes to further our mission. We may share this information publicly or with third parties on an aggregate or anonymized basis. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us.

How Your Information is Shared

To conduct organizational business, WIPLA may need to share your information with third parties, such as financial partners, nonprofit organizations or with whom we partner. You also consent to the worldwide transfer of your information, even in jurisdictions that may have less protective privacy laws than your own. We may also share aggregate or anonymized information with third parties for statistical and/or market research. 

How Your Information is Stored

WIPLA intends to store your information as long as necessary to further its organizational goals. You may choose to delete your information on file with us at any time by contacting us (see "Contact Us").

Emails

WIPLA does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside of the organization. By subscribing to our email newsletter or registering as a WIPLA member, you agree to receive emails from WIPLA.  If you would prefer not to receive emails from WIPLA, you may unsubscribe or contact WIPLA at info.wipla@gmail.com and request to be taken off of the mailing list at any time.

Modifications

WIPLA maintains the option to make amendments to its privacy policy at any time. Please review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our website after the date that any amendments are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
